By The Numbers: • 404 volunteers recruited • 8,023 hours of service to the community • $31,055 raised for community organizations • 6,400 new community members receiving services 
Advancing Justice | Chicago is proud to serve as the host site for the AmeriCorps VISTA Asian American Community Empowerment Project. AmeriCorps VISTA is a federal initiative missioned to eliminate poverty in the United States. These 16 VISTA recruits were chosen by Advancing Justice | Chicago in collaboration with 11 other Asian-serving organizations in Chicago to participate in a full-time year of service. Regular in-person professional development trainings are provided monthly by Advancing Justice | Chicago. Recruits organized fundraisers, recruited volunteers, and conducted outreach for their organizations; their passion and determination aligns with the program’s mission to pull members of the Asian American community out of poverty. 
Your generous contribution supports the program’s poverty-elimination mission, connects you a network of qualified career-driven program participants and alumni, and kickstarts a vibrant public- private-nonprofit partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service and Advancing Justice | Chicago.
